Vt Urban & Community Forestry Program
Enjoy spending time outdoors? Concerned about the health of Vermont’s forests?
Then we need YOUR help! Early detection of invasive pests mitigates the economic and ecological impact to forests and prevents pest populations from becoming established in the state.
A FREE training on how to identify invasive pests will be held on December 6th from 9:30am- 2:30pm at the Berlin UVM Extension office.
We are training concerned citizens to:
- inform the public about the tangible threat Vermont’s primary pests (namely the Asian longhorned beetle, emerald ash borer, and hemlock woolly adelgid) pose
- prepare their communities for a response in the event of an infestation
