This presentation will provide an overview of the basic biology of emerald ash borer, its history in North America, information on Vermont's response to managing the pest and an overview of some basic management strategies that can be incorporated in EAB response plans. Two Logger Education to Advance Professionalism (LEAP) credits will be offered to logger participants.

Mike Parisio has been a forest health specialist with the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation since August 2018. Before that, he worked as a forest health specialist for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and as an invasive species management team leader with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. He holds a degree in forest entomology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, where his graduate research focused on the biological control of emerald ash borer.
