Reporting an Aquatic Plant

Think that you've found an aquatic invasive species?

Natives vs invasives photo
Many native plants, such as slender waterweed (left) and Canadian elodea (right)  look similar to invasive Brazilian elodea (second to left) and hydrilla (second to right)

  1. Check out the gallery of invader pages to confirm the species that you think you have found.
  2. Visit the Vermont DEC's Aquatic Invasive Species Map and see if that species is already documented in the waterbody in question.
  3. If the species has not been documented in that waterbody, submit a photo.
