Passing through towns including Killington, Woodstock, and Hartford, the Ottauquechee River is one of the many tributaries to the Connecticut River. Members of the communities within the Ottauquechee watershed have come together to address the spreading issue of invasive species. Formed in 2010, the OCISMA has held several educational workshops and invasive plant control days. The Steering Committee includes representatives from the National Park Service, the Ottauquechee Natural Resources Conservation District, the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, the Vermont Institute of Natural Science, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and private citizens. Outreach activities are ongoing and new members are always welcome!
